<> What is HomeLogic?
HomeLogic is one of the most powerful home automation systems on the market today.
HomeLogic allows for full control of these sub-systems: theater, security, video, communications, climate, lighting, irrigation and pool/spa.
The true power of the HomeLogic systems comes from the state of the art communication system. HomeLogic communicates with subsystems using IP, serial and infrared.
The HomeLogic system is one of the only systems on the market allowing full home control over the internet. All the features you can control from inside your home can also be controlled from anywhere you have internet access or a phone with the HomeLogic software available.

<> How does HomeLogic work?
The core of HomeLogic system is the HomeBrick and the network assembly. These two devices allow for control of many subsystems such as lighting, theater, audio, video, climate, irrigation, security and pool/spa. The core of the system also controls what is shown on every display, pc, laptop or phone that is connected to the HomeLogic system.
The HomeLogic communication is based on IP and RS232 for two-way feedback and IR control of other devices that do not provide feedback or lack RS232/IP capabilities.
The following picture shows how the HomeLogic system communicates:

Another important part of the HomeLogic system is the software. The software consists of a collection of different tabs that together allow for the control of the entire home. Each tab controls one subsystem.

<> What does each device do?
The HomeBrick is the "brain" of the HomeLogic system. The HomeBrick does all the "talking" to the subsystems (lighting, climate, etc.). It tells the subsystems what to do (turn lights on, etc.) and it also receives feedback from these (i.e. lighting subsystem tells the HomeBrick that the lights have been turned on). The HomeBrick can also store your music and act like a media server, or store the recordings from the cameras directly on its hard drive. The HomeBrick also communicates with the various displays, computers, laptops and phones to allow you to control the subsystems.
The Network Assembly allows the HomeBrick to communicate with the various subsystems, displays, computers, laptops and phones. It also provides shared internet access between all the devices in the home that might require this feature (including your PC's, laptops, etc.) The Network Assembly consists of a router and a high-speed switch pretested and configured to work perfectly with the HomeBrick right out of the box. It provides 18 network connections, support for four RS232 devices, a firewall and 802.11g wireless access.
- Profile 700 (7 inch) In-Wall Touchscreen
The Profile 700 In-Wall Touchscreen is a permanently mounted in-wall touchscreen that provides access to control any of the subsystems connected to the HomeLogic system. The interface is clearly displayed on this bright, full color, high resulution screen. This screen can be installed anywhere inside your home to provide quick easy access to the HomeLogic system. It even comes with a built-in browser!
The wireless tablet has a large 8.4 inch touchscreen display with built-in speakers and microphone. Just like the profile 700 screen, it provides access to control any of the subsystems connected to the HomeLogic system. Its light weight (only 1.9 lbs!) and long battery life make it perfect for managing your home systems from the comfort of your bed or sofa.
